Apply as a Host!
If you feel you have a good idea you would like to make happen, or perhaps you have a topic that you would like to give a presentation on, host a roundtable discussion or a workshop, please read the basic panel regulations and contact us!
Rules and directions
If more than one person has signed up with similar topics, we'll do our best to connect you to work together. If this isn't possible, the organizers will select a host. We ask you to be open-minded and flexible. Remember that we're working for the community, not for personal gain or prestige.
Please avoid presenting adult topics and using profanity or offensive language. It's important that the event is enjoyable for all.
The organizers will determine the final schedule and room assignments, but we'll try to accommodate the needs of the hosts. We'll provide a projector and HDMI cable, but no other equipment (such as computers, laptops, adapters). If you let us know in advance exactly what your equipment and other needs are, we'll try to help you.
The host is responsible for the conduct of the panel. Please be reliable, and contact us in case of unexpected situations. If you're unable to attend the event, please notify us at least 60 days but no more than 30 days in advance so that we can rearrange the program or find a suitable substitute.
In unexpected situations, such as when we have to hold programs at a different location or time due to inclement weather, the schedule or room assignments may change. In such cases, the organizers will do their best to inform the participants about the changes as soon as possible.
Questions and Answers
Do I need to buy a ticket if I want to host a panel at Furdance?
You must have a valid Furdance ticket to attend the event and host a panel. Although we cannot provide free tickets, we'll express our gratitude in other ways.
Can I host a program on stage?
Generally, the organizing team plans, organizes and executes the stage performances. But if you have a great idea, feel free to contact us. We'll be happy to help you bring your idea to life! In this case, however, you'll need to work closely with the organizing team.
Can I ask for some entrance fee to the program I am holding?
No, you cannot tie participation to a separate admission fee or sponsorship, and you cannot pressure participants by setting up or passing around donation boxes. If participants will be working with materials you bring, such as fabric for sewing or canvas and paints for painting, and the cost exceeds what you can afford for the community, please let's know when you apply to host.
Can I host a private program?
Unfortunately, we're unable to host private programs in the main building. Available time and space are limited, so we cannot provide the necessary conditions for this type of program at the event.
