Fursuit Walk
2024.08.12 00:26 CEST
We are pleased to announce that we have received approval for this year’s Fursuit Walk route! If you would like to take part in this event, please read the following information carefully. A brief description of what the Fursuit Walk is, who Furries are and who Fursuiters are can be found on the Fursuit Walk page. Jump to the description!
Preparations on Friday
If you plan to participate in the Fursuit Walk as a fursuiter and are already in town on Friday evening, it’s a good idea to visit the Csokonai Cultural Center in advance. There you can complete your registration on site and even leave your fursuit there for the evening. This way you can avoid the queues on Saturday morning as you won’t have to register again on site if you have a valid wristband.
On Friday, August 16, 2024, you can enter certain areas of the venue from 17:00.
Details of the route
On Saturday we meet at 10:00 am next to the Museum of Fine Arts at the Wünsch Bridge. From there the Fursuit Walk will start at 11:00 towards the zoo and then on to Vajdahunyad Castle. Our plan is to walk through Vajdahunyad Castle, circle the House of Music Hungary and finish the walk behind the Kunsthalle.
Please note that the attached map and schedule are for guidance only and may change during the walk. We therefore ask all participants to arrive on time and to be at the meeting point by 10:50 at the latest.
Fursuiter Transfer Bus
Once again this year we are offering a free bus service for fursuiters who have a valid ticket and have registered for the bus. Those who have not registered or do not have a ticket will unfortunately not be able to use the service.
The first bus departs at 10:00 from the Csokonai Cultural Center and takes fursuiters directly to the meeting point at Wünsch Bridge. The return bus departs at the end of the walk at the Olaf-Palme-Promenade next to the Kunsthalle.
Public transportation
The venue of Furdance Budapest, the Csokonai Cultural Center, is about 30 minutes away from Heroes' Square. The easiest way to get there is to take the M1 metro to the Mexikói út terminus, where you can change to bus 25. The bus stops directly in front of the event center at Eötvös Utca 74 or Rädda Barnen Street.
Health and safety
Due to the summer heat, we are bringing extra supplies this year. Fursuiters can ask for water from the volunteers wearing vests and use portable fans to cool off if needed.
During the long weekend, there will be various events taking place throughout the city in conjunction with National Day. We therefore ask all participants to follow the instructions of the volunteers and organizers carefully and not to fall behind the group.
It is important to know that if necessary – e.g. if there are too many unexpected visitors – the volunteers may ask some participants or spectators to follow the walk from a slightly greater distance to ensure the safety of the route. We ask you to follow the instructions of the volunteers in such cases.
